Central Basin Traffic Safety Task Force was formed in 2000, to augment traffic enforcement efforts throughout Grant and Adams Counties. This is accomplished through enforcement emphasis in those areas deemed problematic. The task force has expanded its role within the communities it serves, by providing education to young drivers.

The Central Basin Traffic Safety Task Force is working to make sure parents are informed about the importance of using proper child safety restraint practices while driving. Violating the WA State Child Restraint Law can result in a ticket. Worse yet, it can result in traumatic injuries or fatalities. When transporting children in a vehicle, please remember:
- Children under 13 need to ride in the back seat!
- School-aged children need to ride in booster seats until 4 feet 9 inches tall
