West Gateway Concept Plan

The City of Quincy is excited to announce the proposed concept plan for the west entry into our great community. The west arrival, in conjunction with the recent highway roundabout improvements, includes much of our city’s industrial business to the north, and new commercial activity to the south. The emerging streetscape design embraces these realities, providing landscape screening to the north with mounded soil and vegetation of a more “eastern Washington” inspired landscape, and high visibility and pedestrian activity to business along the south with ornamental and large shade trees and a more “manicured character”. The project is made possible by the Microsoft Datacenter Community Development Team, led by Lisa Karstetter, working in collaboration with Carl Worley, City of Quincy, and Berger Partnership. The team pulled together a wide range of input and views collected during the Voice of the Community Events to create a welcoming and distinctive gateway that connects and catalyzes activity in downtown Quincy. The strategic investment will benefit both visitors and residents, enhancing the city’s role as a thriving community-focused tech hub and highlight our rich agricultural history and natural landscape.
